This week felt like a step back

Week 20 of 42

This week has been rough.

You know those times when your brain just doesn't want to cooperate?
That's been me –low energy, mind wandering all over the place, and honestly not much to show for it.

I've been thinking a lot about content creation lately, and I need to get something off my chest: I've never really nailed the whole "consistent valuable content" thing. It's kind of embarrassing to admit, but I tend to get in my own way –overthinking everything until I end up procrastinating or busying myself with less important stuff.

But here's the thing –the lightbulb moment of the week.

Instead of trying to build this perfect content machine all at once, why not master just one small type of content at first? Get really good at it, make it a habit, and then build from there?

Speaking of next steps, I'm heading home for Christmas this week.

Perfect timing, actually –I really need some quiet time to figure out two big questions: what kind of content I actually want to make, and where I want to put it.

I'm kind of stuck on X (Twitter).

When I was actively commenting and engaging, I was hitting 40k views monthly. The moment I stepped back? Boom – dropped to 6k. Part of me wonders if platforms like YouTube, Instagram, or LinkedIn might be better for building authority without having to be "always on."

Still figuring this one out – might need to run some experiments and dig into the numbers.

Oh, and here's something cool I do every year –I record these video messages to myself. Kind of like a time capsule of lessons learned, random thoughts, and hopes for the future. Going to record my 2024 one this week. Can't wait to watch last year's and see how things have changed.

I try to live intentionally, even though I definitely mess up along the way (more often than I'd like to admit).

Looking at the bigger picture, I'm still laser-focused on that $10k/month goal –5 months left. I found how to make money, but I want better quality clients this time around. That's really why I've been obsessing over my brand message and online presence lately. Better clients, better business, better everything.

So yeah, this next week will be all about reflection, planning, and family. I'll keep you all in the loop about what I figure out.

Until next week,

Nil.
